365 Days of Print, a blog created by Maya Joseph-Goteiner, with a goal to engage and create dialogue about the news and  print media. I was a participant for the month of July along with eight other artists - quite a challenge to create a new piece every single day - Last Day, July 31, 2011

Center for Book Arts, group exhibition

My piece in this exhibition, is "Libro Sin Palabras" which dates from 1963, Mexico City.  At the time I was working on large pieces, cutting shapes from color paper.  Then I had the idea to make a book in the same mode. "Libro Sin Palabras" consists of ten pages - each turn of the page changes the configuration. The idea came to me out of my interest in kaleidoscopes and Chinese scrolls. It's an edition of 50 hand cut (by me) books with only the spiral binding mechanically done.

"Sub-version" is about the interplay between truth and fiction and how meaning is shaped and altered through juxtaposition and editing. It's also about about terror, surveillance, mass media, virtual reality, shadowy threats and ominous rumors.
